Description

The Candide BC 111 All Conditions 2027 Skis are designed for freeriders who love to carve fresh tracks but also want to carve their own lines in challenging snow conditions. This powerful freeride ski combines a wide 111 mm waist with a lightweight, responsive construction. The C-Light Core, made of paulownia and poplar wood, delivers a lively ride, while the pronounced Powder Rocker profile provides extra float in deep snow. Thanks to the Triple Radius Sidecut, the BC 111 remains surprisingly controllable when you pick up the pace. A ski for experienced riders who love to combine powder, steep descents, and creative freeride lines.

Terrain: Freeride & Powder

The BC 111 is at its best in deep powder, open mountain slopes, and technical freeride terrain. The wide waist and long rocker zones help the ski stay afloat on soft snow and make quick changes of direction easier. Even in freshly tracked snow, the sturdy construction provides enough support to ski through it with control. On hard groomed runs, you can still carve powerful turns, but for everyday on-piste use, a narrower all-mountain ski is more efficient.

Profile: Powder Rocker

The Powder Rocker profile combines 505 mm of rocker at the tip with 485 mm of rocker at the tail and just 1 mm of camber underfoot, measured at 186 cm. The long rocker zones provide extra float and make the ski easy to turn in deep snow. The subtle camber offers enough support to maintain control even on firmer surfaces. As a result, the BC 111 feels playful in powder without completely losing its stable character.

Shape & Sidecut: Freeride with Triple Radius Sidecut

The freeride-oriented shape combines a wide tip with a slightly narrower, upturned tail. At a length of 186 cm, the BC 111 has dimensions of 141-111-135 mm. The Triple Radius Sidecut uses three different turning radii: 20 meters at the tip, 35 meters underfoot, and 22 meters at the tail. This allows you to initiate turns smoothly, maintain stability at higher speeds, and steer the ski in a controlled manner. The geometry is primarily designed for smooth freeride turns and stability in open terrain.

Flex & Construction

The BC 111 features a relatively firm, progressive flex that provides support during powerful descents and landings. The C-Light Core combines lightweight paulownia with poplar wood, reinforced with fiberglass and carbon. This results in a responsive construction with sufficient rebound and torsional stiffness. Weighing approximately 1,900 grams per ski at 186 cm, the weight remains modest for a freeride ski of this width. The durable P-Tex 4000 base and heat-treated steel edges make the ski suitable for intensive use.

Level: Advanced to Expert

This ski is primarily aimed at advanced and experienced freeriders who have the technical skill to actively control a wide ski. The long rocker zones make it maneuverable in soft snow, but the firm flex and freeride-oriented geometry require control when conditions become more challenging. For beginner skiers or those who mainly ski calmly on groomed runs, the BC 111 is less suitable.

Technologies: C-Light Core & Triple Radius Sidecut

The C-Light Core uses FSC-certified paulownia and poplar wood reinforced with carbon and fiberglass. This combination keeps the ski relatively light while delivering a powerful, lively response.

Triple Radius Sidecut combines three different turn radii to strike a balance between turn initiation, stability, and control. This helps keep the ski predictable, especially during fast freeride descents.

Dual Mounting Points offers two recommended mounting positions: Candide and Regular. This allows you to adjust the position of the bindings to suit a more playful riding style or a more traditional freeride stance.

Which ski length should you choose?

The BC 111 is available in 175, 181, 186, and 191 cm. A shorter length makes the ski easier to maneuver in forests, narrow couloirs, and technical sections. A longer length offers more stability at high speeds and extra float in deep snow. Thanks to the long rocker zones, the ski feels more agile than a traditional full-camber ski. Choose your length based on your body type, skill level, and favorite freeride terrain.

Bindings & Setup

The Candide BC 111 All Conditions 2027 is sold as a standalone flat ski without bindings. It does not feature an integrated binding system, so you’ll need to select a suitable binding separately. Candide offers two mounting positions: Regular, intended for a more traditional freeride stance, and Candide, for a more personalized and playful setup. The bindings must still be professionally mounted and adjusted. When doing so, take into account the chosen mounting position, your ski boots, the type of binding, and the correct brake width.

Stoked Expert Advice

The BC 111 is a solid choice for experienced freeriders who love to seek out powder days and want enough stability for challenging descents. The combination of a wide shape, long rocker zones, and a responsive wood core makes it particularly well-suited for carving creative lines in natural terrain. Are you looking for a freeride ski that offers both float and control when you really push it? Then this Candide definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist.
