Description

The Tecnica Cochise HV 130 DYN GW 2027 Dark Icon/Orange ski boots are designed for experienced freeride and all-mountain skiers who want to combine powerful descents with the freedom to hike. With a firm flex rating of 130 and a wide last of 102 mm, this hybrid ski boot offers plenty of support without imposing a narrow performance fit. The T-Ride Walk Mode provides extra freedom of movement during ascents, while the DYN Tech Inserts allow for use with compatible pin bindings. Thanks to the Full C.A.S. liner, anatomical shell, and sturdy four-buckle closure, this model is particularly appealing to skiers seeking downhill performance and versatility in a single boot.

Flex: 130

With a flex index of 130, this Tecnica ski boot offers very firm, performance-oriented support. The boot is designed for powerful skiers seeking direct power transfer, stability, and control at higher speeds and on challenging terrain.

In ski mode, the T-Ride construction ensures a secure connection between the cuff and the shell. This allows the boot to remain responsive during aggressive turns and descents in varying snow conditions.

Fit & Last Width: High Volume – 102 mm

The Cochise HV 130 features a wide High Volume fit with a nominal last width of 102 mm. This design is particularly well-suited for skiers with a wider forefoot or higher foot volume who are looking for a powerful freeride boot.

The anatomical shell and Full C.A.S. liner provide support around the foot and ankle. The Adjustable Tongue allows you to further fine-tune the fit across the instep.

Your heel shape, instep height, and overall foot volume also determine the final fit. The specified last width is a nominal value that varies with the Mondopoint size.

Closure System: 4 Micro-Adjustable Aluminum Buckles

The Tecnica Cochise HV 130 DYN GW features four micro-adjustable aluminum buckles that allow you to independently adjust the tension around the foot and lower leg.

A 45 mm Power Lock Strap provides extra support at the top of the cuff and helps improve power transfer during powerful descents. The closure system combines a classic, precisely adjustable fit with the versatility of a hybrid freeride boot.

Liner & Footbed: Ecodesign High Performance Full C.A.S.

The Ecodesign High Performance Full C.A.S. liner features an anatomical construction that provides precise support for the heel and ankle. Thanks to C.A.S. technology, the liner can be professionally thermo-molded to the individual foot shape.

The Adjustable Tongue allows for precise adjustment across the instep. The liner is also Lace Ready, so a suitable lacing system can be added for extra support.

This combination offers interesting possibilities for refining the heel fit and pressure distribution during professional boot fitting.

Shell & Cuff: T-Ride & Free Move

The polyurethane shell and Bi-Injected Carbon/PP cuff combine firm support with the freedom of movement offered by a hybrid construction.

The T-Ride system lets you switch between ski and walk modes. In ski mode, the construction supports direct power transfer, while in walk mode, the cuff offers a 55° range of motion.

The Free Move hinge points reduce resistance to movement while walking. Thanks to Quick Instep, the shell opens more easily around the instep, making it easier to put on and take off.

This construction is particularly appealing to freeriders who regularly combine short climbs, traverses, or hikes with powerful descents.

Sole & Binding Compatibility: GripWalk & DYN Tech Inserts

The Cochise HV 130 DYN GW features GripWalk soles compliant with ISO 23223 and integrated DYN Tech Inserts.

The GripWalk soles provide extra grip and a more natural rolling motion while walking. The tech inserts enable use with compatible pin binding systems.

However, the combination of GripWalk and tech inserts does not mean the ski boot is compatible with every alpine, hybrid, or touring binding. Always check the specific sole standard, the binding system’s requirements, and the compatibility of the inserts. Have your bindings professionally inspected and adjusted.

Level: Advanced – Expert

These Tecnica ski boots are particularly suited for advanced to highly experienced freeride and all-mountain skiers who combine powerful descents with walking sections or shorter ascents.

The 130 flex provides plenty of support for aggressive skiing, higher speeds, and challenging snow conditions. Thanks to the T-Ride Walk Mode and DYN Tech Inserts, this model is more versatile than a classic alpine performance boot.

This sturdy construction is less suitable for leisurely recreational skiing or long, weight-conscious ski tours.

Size Guide: Mondopoint & Fit

Choose your ski boot based on your foot length in centimeters, expressed in Mondopoint. Your regular European shoe size is only a guideline.

With this wide Cochise fit, your forefoot width, instep height, and heel volume are also important. The boot must provide sufficient space without allowing your heel to move unnecessarily, both while skiing and while walking.

A ski boot that’s too big can cause extra foot movement, friction, and reduced control. Therefore, don’t automatically choose a larger size if a new performance boot feels tight.

Stoked Boot Fitting Advice

At Stoked in Halle, we particularly recommend this Tecnica model to experienced freeriders with wider feet or higher foot volume who are looking for a sturdy ski boot with hiking capabilities. We pay special attention to the heel closure, the space over the instep, and comfort during both skiing and hiking movements. Thanks to the adjustable Full C.A.S. liner, Adjustable Tongue, and optional supportive insoles, we can fine-tune the fit precisely where the construction and your foot shape allow.
