Description
The Jones Howler 2027 Snowboard is a high-performance backcountry freestyle board for riders who like to combine technical freeride lines with big airs, natural side hits, and freestyle tricks. Developed by Victor de Le Rue and Elena Hight, the Howler combines a directional shape with an aggressive High Power Camber and a firm 8/10 flex. The result is an explosive and precise board that lets you charge spines, carve powerfully, and stomp big landings with confidence. Freeride and freestyle blend seamlessly here: the mountain is your park.
Flex
8/10—with a stiff snowboard like this, you’re guaranteed excellent response and support, allowing you to ride the slopes with confidence and power. If you’re an experienced and powerful snowboarder, a stiff flex is exactly what you need for optimal performance.
Shape
Directional—with this shape, the binding is positioned slightly further back, giving the snowboard a longer nose. This makes the snowboard ideal for freeride and all-mountain riding, providing you with more float in powder snow.
Rocker Type
High Power Camber—This is a pronounced full camber from tip to tail, combined with an extended flat zone under the rear inserts. The construction is designed to extract extra power from the tail. The result is explosive pop, strong edge grip, and plenty of support when accelerating out of a carve or landing a big jump. This makes the Howler feel much more locked-in and powerful than a typical rocker-heavy freerider. It’s built for snowboarders who intentionally put pressure on their board.
Base
High 3D Contour—offers effortless turns, less edge catch, and more glide, with smooth turn entries and sharp exits—perfect for stable and playful all-mountain freeriding.
Core
Power Core + Koroyd—this combination delivers a lightweight, poppy wood core with lively, forgiving response and carbon layers for powerful pop, while flax fibers dampen vibrations for a stable and comfortable ride. Exactly what you’re looking for in an energetic all-mountain or freeride setup that feels both powerful and smooth.
Base
Sintered 8000—this base ensures durability and superior glide performance
Binding Compatibility
Strap: Classic two-strap bindings are fully compatible and pair perfectly with the Howler.
Fast Entry: FASE® bindings can also be used with a compatible mounting disc.
Rear Entry: Systems such as Nidecker Supermatic® and Bent Metal Lightning Supermatic® can be used if the disc is compatible with the board’s inserts.
Step On: Burton Step On® Re:Flex can also be mounted on traditional snowboard inserts. Of course, you’ll also need Step On®-compatible boots for this.
