Description

The Tecnica Zero G Decoy 130 GW 2027 Sand ski boots are designed for experienced freeride and all-mountain skiers who want to combine powerful descents with the freedom to hike. With a flex rating of 130 and a medium last width of 99 mm, this hybrid ski boot offers a firm, performance-oriented fit. The Power Frame Construction ensures direct power transfer and stability, while Walk Mode—with 65° of freedom of movement—provides extra comfort during ascents. Thanks to the DYN Tech Inserts, Vibram GripWalk soles, and adjustable Performance C.A.S. liner, this model is particularly appealing to skiers seeking strong downhill performance without sacrificing the versatility of a freeride boot.

Flex: 130

With a flex index of 130, this Tecnica ski boot offers very firm, performance-oriented support. The relatively stiff construction ensures stability during powerful turns, higher speeds, and challenging descents.

The Power Frame Construction reinforces the shell in strategic areas for direct power transfer and precise edge grip. This flex is particularly well-suited for experienced skiers who have sufficient strength and technique to actively engage the boot.

Fit & Last Width: Medium Volume – 99 mm

The Zero G Decoy 130 GW features a Medium Volume fit with a nominal last width of 99 mm. Within the medium category, this boot offers a relatively snug, sporty fit.

The anatomical C.A.S. construction supports a precise fit around the foot, while the Performance C.A.S. liner helps keep the heel and ankle stable.

This fit is particularly well-suited for skiers with an average to relatively narrow forefoot who are looking for a secure fit. Your instep height, heel shape, and overall foot volume also determine the final fit. Additionally, the nominal last width varies depending on the Mondopoint size.

Closure System: 4 Micro-Adjustable Aluminum Buckles

The Tecnica Zero G Decoy 130 GW features four micro-adjustable aluminum buckles that allow you to independently adjust the tension around the foot and lower leg.

The classic buckle closure provides a secure fit and allows for precise adjustments while skiing. A wide 45 mm Power Lock Strap provides extra support at the top of the cuff and helps improve power transfer during powerful descents.

The Power Lock system also allows you to loosen the strap without completely unfastening it.

Liner & Footbed: Ecodesign Performance C.A.S.

The Ecodesign Performance C.A.S. liner features an anatomically shaped construction with targeted support around the heel and ankle.

Thanks to C.A.S. technology, the liner can be professionally thermally molded to the individual foot shape. The Floating Tongue offers additional options for fine-tuning the fit and pressure distribution across the instep.

The combination of supportive materials and targeted adjustability makes this liner ideal for skiers seeking a stable fit during both ascents and powerful descents.

Shell & Cuff: Power Frame Construction & Free Move

The polyurethane shell and polypropylene cuff combine firm support with freedom of movement for freeride use. The Power Frame Construction reinforces key areas of the shell for extra stability and direct power transfer, even when skiing on wider freeride skis.

Walk Mode offers a 65° range of motion, giving your lower leg more freedom while walking. The Free Move hinge points with bearings reduce resistance to movement during ascents.

Thanks to Quick Instep, the shell opens more easily around the instep, making it easier to put on and take off. The anatomical C.A.S. Shell also allows for targeted professional fit adjustments.

Sole & Binding Compatibility: Vibram GripWalk & DYN Tech Inserts

The Zero G Decoy 130 GW features Glued-On Vibram GripWalk soles compliant with ISO 23223, combined with DYN Tech Inserts.

The Vibram soles provide extra grip while hiking, while the tech inserts enable use with compatible pin bindings. Thanks to this combination, the boot is an attractive option for freeriders who switch between alpine and touring gear.

Not every alpine, hybrid, or touring binding is automatically compatible. Always check whether the specific binding is suitable for the GripWalk sole and, if applicable, the tech inserts. Have the binding professionally inspected and adjusted.

Level: Advanced – Expert

These Tecnica ski boots are particularly well-suited for advanced to highly experienced freeride and all-mountain skiers who combine powerful descents with hikes and ascents.

The 130 flex and Power Frame Construction provide solid support during aggressive skiing, while Walk Mode offers extra freedom of movement off-piste.

Weighing approximately 1,680 grams per boot in size 26.5, this model combines a sturdy downhill construction with a relatively low weight. For those who primarily undertake long, weight-conscious touring trips, a lighter touring boot may be more suitable.

Size Guide: Mondopoint & Fit

Choose your ski boot based on your foot length in centimeters, expressed in Mondopoint. Your regular European shoe size is only a guideline.

With this relatively snug Medium Volume fit, your forefoot width, instep height, and heel volume are also important. The boot should fit snugly with a stable heel, both while skiing and while hiking.

A ski boot that’s too big can cause extra movement, friction, and reduced control. Therefore, don’t automatically choose a larger size if a new performance boot feels tight.

Stoked Boot Fitting Advice

At Stoked in Halle, we especially recommend this Tecnica model to experienced freeriders seeking powerful downhill performance who regularly tackle short to medium-length ascents. We pay extra attention to the heel lock, pressure distribution across the instep, and freedom of movement while hiking. Thanks to the C.A.S. Shell, the thermoformable Performance C.A.S. liner, Floating Tongue, and optional supportive insoles, we can specifically optimize the fit wherever the construction and your foot shape allow.
